Our 2019 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE), which will take place in Knoxville, Tenn. on November 4-7, will soon be here! Whether you’re a long-time conference attendee or you’re new to the industry, you’ll find that we’ve packed this year’s OHCE with all kinds of opportunities for learning, networking, shopping and more!

To start, his year we’re offering more than 40 education sessions to choose from, but that’s not all — here are nine more ways to make the most of your time at OHCE:

1. Sign up for our new Takeaway Tours. During this one-day, Add-On Experience*, you’ll tour the headquarters of Clayton Homes, the nation’s largest builder of manufactured housing and modular homes, and two ARVC member-parks: Big Meadow Family Campground and Little Arrow Outdoor Resort. Plan to “takeaway” a lot of great ideas! Learn more about Takeaway Tours and register to join us Monday, November 4 for this pre-conference event.

2. Learn about the latest industry trends. Don’t miss our first-ever “Trends and Insights” session. Presented by Toby O’Rourke, president and CEO of Kampgrounds of America (KOA), you’ll gain a better understanding of the campers of both today and tomorrow. Learn more about Toby’s presentation on Wedneday.

3. Find a new reservation system. Our interactive Reservations Panel and Q&A will feature representatives from seven of the premier companies in the market so you can get your research done before heading to the expo floor to meet one-on-one with the representatives.  Learn more about the panel, taking place Wednesday afternoon.

4. Complete your NFPA 1194® Certificate. Knowledge of this industry standard is vital no matter what.  Maybe you’re planning to build a new park or remodel or expand an existing one. Even for daily and seasonal maintenance and upkeep, the NFPA1194 standards are written specifically for Rv parks and campgrounds and are the go-to for all your site needs. You and/or your staff members can complete the NFPA 1194 Certificate course in just one day at OHCE with this Add-On Experience*. Learn more about the NPFA 1194 Completion Certificate and register to join us Monday, November 4 for this pre-conference event.

5. Tap into guidance and advice from your peers. Attend one of our informal Cracker Barrel sessions. We’ll have one exclusively designed for owners/operators as well as one for  park managers, and additional sessions that will focus on human resources and finance, working with local authorities having jurisdiction (AJHs) and park building and expansion. What is a Cracker Barrel? Cracker Barrel sessions are a wonderful opportunity to meet others, exchange ideas and learn through guided conversation. Learn more about our different Cracker Barrels.

6. Pick up some new SOPs. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) can make all the difference in helping your park run smoothly. A team of industry experts will lead our “Share Shop: Standard Operating Procedures” where you can get some great ideas and learn how to streamline your processes. Learn more about this Tuesday afternoon session.

 7. Fine tune your leadership skills. Attend one or both of our one-hour workshops with Kyle Sanders from Seek More Solutions on diffusing tension and resolving conflict through effective communication. You just may become a campground whisperer!

8. Meet other park professionals from your area. Be sure to attend your Town Hall & Voting Area Caucus where you can meet and mingle with peers from your local region and cast your vote (if you’re located in Area 1 or 5) for your Area Representative.

9. Enjoy the convenience of one-stop shopping for the products and services you need. More than 120 vendors will be participating in our Expo, and almost 30 of them are new to our conference! Come see what they have to offer.

Plus, you’ll be able to attend fun social events like our OHCE and Expo welcome receptions, our Awards of Excellence Dinner and the ARVC Foundation auction! So don’t wait — visit arvc.org/OHCE to learn more and to register!
