House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she still feels confident the massive legislation will be brought to the House floor on Friday and said during a press conference Thursday morning she felt certain “we will have a strong bipartisan vote.”
She is seeking to hold a voice vote, which would not require the House’s 429 sitting members to reconvene in Washington—a strategy endorsed by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), given that multiple lawmakers have contracted coronavirus or are in self-quarantine.
