It’s Time to Cast Your Vote!

One of the many benefits of ARVC membership is having the opportunity to make your voice heard on industry issues that are important to you. One way to do this is by sharing your thoughts and concerns with your area representative, and you now have an opportunity to vote to elect a representative for your area for the next term. The individuals elected will serve on the ARVC Board of Directors for three years beginning on November 5, 2020. Voting opened on August 6 and will continue through November 4 at Noon MT. 

There are two ways to vote: 

Online: Ballots were sent to ARVC members by email on August 6. If you did not receive yours, please contact ARVC at 303-681-0401. 

By mail: If you prefer to vote by mail, you must request a ballot from ARVC and your completed ballot must be received by the ARVC office by November 3. To request a mail-in ballot, call ARVC at 303-681-0401 or email membership@arvc.org 

Here are the nominees: 

Voting Area 1 

Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont  

Michelle Gustine 

Nelson’s Family Campground, Wolf’s Den Family Campground and Gustine’s RV Sales and Service, Conn. 

Why she wants to serve: Gustine says, “I would be honored to represent ARVC at Connecticut Campground Owners Association (CCOA) meetings as to continue to learn about our industry. Camping has a momentum that has been inclining for years and I’d like to be a part of this continuing. I never want to see a plateau—only growth for our industry.” 

Voting Area 2 

Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia 

Eileen Vaughan, OHM 

Mountain Vista Campground, Pa. 

Why she wants to serve: Vaughan says, “I am so honored to have represented Area 2 on the ARVC National Board for the last three years. Area 2 is made up of the most awesome campgrounds and campground owners. I feel a seat on the national board is extremely important, so I will be running for my second term. Presently, I serve on the Public Affairs Committee which is meeting the challenges our industry is having on a daily basis.”

Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin  

Jim Button, OHE, CPO 

Evergreen Campsites & Resort, Wis. 

Why he wants to serve: Button has been involved in the outdoor hospitality industry for 37 years and has owned Evergreen Campsites & Resort for the last 24 years. His support and guidance are requested consistently from campground owners throughout the state. Button also mentors campgrounds throughout the country and is highly respected for his visionary ability. 

Bill Pott, CPO 

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp Resort, Ky. 

Why he wants to serve: Pott and his wife Kay acquired their park in 2004 and have made continuous improvements to it since that time. Over the years, the park has earned many accolades, including being named ARVC’s Large Park of the Year in 2019. Pott has also served multiple terms on the Yogi Advisory Council, the franchisee owners’ group that interfaces with the franchisor, Leisure Systems.

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee 

Michael Hobby, CPO, OHC 

Moon Landing RV Park & Marina and Lighthouse RV Park & Marina, S.C. 

Why he wants to serve:Hobby has owned his parks since 1995 and 2012, respectively. He has served in several capacities on the ARVC board, including his current roles as representative for Voting Area 4 and as trustee and vice chairman of the ARVC Foundation. 

Voting Area 5 

Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas  

Ed Miller 

Rush No More RV Resort and Campground, S.D. 

Why he wants to serve: Miller has been president of the South Dakota Campground Owners Association (SDCOA) for several years. He says, “I feel that volunteering to serve on the ARVC Board will allow me to share my experience and knowledge, especially in the government relations area to better enable ARVC to best meet the needs and objectives of campground owners.”  

Terry Munoz, CPO, OHC 

Vice President of Recreational Properties, The Signorelli Company, Texas 

Why he wants to serve: Munoz has previously served on the ARVC Board of Directors and Executive Committee and is a past president and board member of the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO). He says, “My goal as an outdoor hospitality professional has always been to create a fulfilled, memorable, quality outdoor experience in a setting where everyone feels welcomed and no one ever wants to leave!” 

David Lance Pitre 

L’Acadie Inn & RV Park and Lakeview Park & Beach, La. 

Why he wants to serve: Pitre has served in the hospitality industry as an owner and operator for over 21 years and has been a member of the ARVC 20 Group 2 since 2011. He is often told by associates and employees that he brings calm to any situation. He has tireless energy and maintains a positive attitude in all things he chooses to tackle.

Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming 

Robert Rolle, OHC 

Rolle’s Lynda Vista RV Park, Ariz.  

Why he wants to serve: Rolle started building his 110-space park in Yuma, Arizona in 1985 while a full-time science teacher in southern California. He says It would have been wonderful to have known there was an Arizona ARVC or a national ARVC in 1985, but he didn’t learn about the associations until around 2001. By 2009 Robert was serving on the Arizona ARVC Board and served two years as president from 2011 through 2013. He was elected to serve on the ARVC Board as the rep for Area 6 in 2017 and would like to serve another three-year term.
