Giving Tuesday is a global giving movement that has brought millions of people together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. The ARVC Foundation is a proud participant in Giving Tuesday, which will begin this year on Tue., Dec. 1, 2020.
The goal of the ARVC Foundation’s Giving Tuesday initiative, which runs through December 31, 2020 is to raise $12,000 to support the ARVC Foundation’s mission. This mission includes providing scholarships for the annual Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo (OHCE), the National School of RV Park and Campground Management and Prospective Owners Workshops (POW), as well as providing much needed financial assistance through the Disaster Relief Fund to aid ARVC member-parks that are impacted by natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods and wildfires.
Every donations can make a difference, especially during a year that has seen so many challenges and obstacles thrown at RV park and campground owners.
“It has been a tough year for everyone, as we have all dealt with the COVID pandemic, natural disasters, park closures and so much more, but our industry has proven to be resilient, as always, in the face of these challenges and has pulled together to help each other through these tough times,” says Paula Horwitz, ARVC Foundation executive director. “We have such an amazing community that joins to support each other, and our Giving Tuesday campaign is a vital part of that effort. We truly value and need your donations to continue our work.”
Attendees during ARVC’s annual Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo (OHCE) generously contributed more than $18,000 to the ARVC Foundation to kick off the fundraising push. Now, ARVC is calling on other members of the outdoor hospitality community to help raise an additional $12,000 by donating what they can by visiting arvc.org/donate. All donation are 100% tax deductible contribution and will help ensure the continued growth of the outdoor hospitality industry.
“The generosity within the outdoor hospitality industry is amazing,” says Cyndy Zbierski, chair of the ARVC Foundation Board. “Your campgrounds, RV parks and supporting businesses give to many local, regional and national groups. You help first responders, local hospitals, schools, churches and more. The ARVC Foundation recognizes this generosity and appreciates the support we receive to ensure we can continue to help when called upon and to grow our own giving to this special community.”
Donations of any size are welcome and can be made in the name of an individual or a park or anonymously. Donors can also specify whether the donation should go toward scholarships, the Disaster Relief Fund or the ARVC Foundation general fund.
“Giving Tuesday is a day of giving time, talents, treasure and thanks. We invite all whom support the mission of the ARVC Foundation to donate by visiting arvc.org/donate between now and December 31, 2020. Your contribution to our Giving Tuesday initiative will be deeply appreciated,” says Horwitz.
